Following public consultations and a thorough review of all public comments received, the Accessibility Advisory Council (council) submitted Recommendations for an Accessibility Employment Standard for the Minister of Families on April 5, 2017.

The Honourable Scott Fielding, Minister of Families, is reviewing and considering the recommendations of the council before proposing the Government of Manitoba’s accessibility employment standard.  The Government’s proposed standard may accept, reject and/or amend any of the council’s recommendations.

Once the Government’s proposed standard is posted, the public has a further 60 days to offer comment. Following the submission period and a review of comments received, the Minister, in consultation with the council, may make final amendments to the proposed standard, if the Minister considers it appropriate.  The proposed Accessibility Employment Standard will then be forwarded to Cabinet for approval.

The Government of Manitoba’s proposed accessibility employment standard will be posted on this website.
