Manitoba Access Awareness Week Learning Event 2019: How and Why to Support Accessible Employment, Co-hosted by MEEPA

  • Keynote speaker: Ms. Maureen Haan, Executive Director of the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work, with the business case for hiring people with disabilities.
  • Overview of the Accessibility Standard for Employment.
  • Panel discussion on accessibility in emergency planning, facilitated by the Independent Living Resource Centre.
  • Networking with local service providers and resources.

Workshops & Presentations

Through presentation and discussion, participants will learn how to develop policies and actions to help their organization comply with Accessibility Standards under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act.  These two-hour workshops target individuals who are responsible for developing and implementing policies at their workplace or organization.
